proxy - BitTorrent client with strict SOCKS policy

    Is there any reliable opensource BitTorrent client that will absolutely positively use SOCKS (when configured) for all connections whatsoever, failing if the SOCKS server is inaccessible?

    I think it's outrageous if the client falls back to direct (no SOCKS) connection on error, or if it uses SOCKS only for some connections (e.g. with peers) and behind the scenes communicates directly with trackers, DHT, DNS and whatnot. Some clients allow you to explicitly set the SOCKS for some particular types of communications, but nothing explicitly states that there are no other types of communication (unlisted in the settings) that will still leak.

    While having the option to choose between SOCKS and direct for various types of communication can be useful, I'd strongly prefer to have one "red button" that, if checked, guarantees that all connections ever made via the client will go through the SOCKS; no exceptions, period.

    What are your experiences with BitTorrent clients leaking connections? Any suggestions for reliable clients that one can trust in this regard?

    i'm using putty to setup a socks proxy on my computer.

    i firefox i configure the socks proxy so that i can surf.

    but i have to do this for every programm i want to surf the internet.

    now, i would like to forward all traffic on windows to my local Socks Proxy. is there something, that could do this job?

    I am using Chrome, and an extension called Switchy! can do the job.

    It achieve this by setting some script for the global proxy setting of the system.

    If you want any program to work through socks proxy, you need software like FreeCap, WideCap, SocksCap, ProxyCap or Proxifier. It's possible to forward all traffic or from specified applications, some programs allow building of complex rules.
