I am thinking of buying this and I do not know how to connect it to a raspberry pi (hdmi or rca). Do you have any recommendations as to how to connect it (please give links if possible)?

    Thank you

streaming - Raspberry Pi as MP3 Player

I'm looking to make my own MP3 streamer using a Raspberry Pi as the client and my Linux box as a server.

The linux box would serve via SBM/DNLA/??? I would control it via my android phone using a client/web page. The Raspberry Pi would be headless, wireless/wired, connected to amp via 3.5mm out. Potentially have 2 setup for different rooms and controllable independently.

Any thoughts on the software for the linux server/raspberry pi to make this work?

MPD supports a number of audio formats and has a number of clients of all types. Mounting the remote shares on the RPi via FUSE will allow it to access the files stored on them.

As I mentioned in the comments, one option is to stream the pulseaudio stream. You can do this using paprefs.

Alternatively have you looked at something like subsonic? It's pretty nifty and turns your 'nix box into a streaming server that can be accessed from anywhere (even your phone!). See more here

Also since I last answered this on a question that got closed, I also found jinzora which is pretty cool, and runs as far as I can tell from a bunch of php files and an existing server, rather than subsonic which creates it's own server.
