windows - How do I access/edit the Chrome user avatar images?

    By which I mean the files which are referenced as chrome://theme/IDR_PROFILE_AVATAR_X

    I have identified the icon used as being %APPDATA%/Local/Chromium/User Data/Profile X/Google Profile.ico

    But what I'm looking for is the image used in the top left.

    The icons are in the file C:/Program Files (x86)/Chromium/chrome.dll

    You can use an application such as 7-Zip to browse the contents.

    (You may need to close Chromium before you can access the file - or create a copy.)

    Go to chrome.dll/.rsrc/BINDATA/ and you will see a bunch of numerically named files.

    Files 6167 to 6192 are the avatar icons, in PNG format.

    Unfortunately 7-Zip doesn't seem to support putting changed files back into the DLL, so need to find other software to do that...

    Warning: modifying the chrome.dll does change the image, but also appears to stop keyboard shortcuts from working...

    Is there any way to get Google Chrome to use multiple rows for tabs?

    I haven't been able to find an extension, or a mention of this feature coming up in a future release.

    In short, you can't, and it doesn't seem to be coming. I'm guessing they're trying to teach you good tab management and to let make you play with the tab ripping. There are many alternative solutions to tab overload though. Take a look at TooManyTabs and Chrome's new verticle tab commandline switch.

    Take a look at TabsOutliner extension. It gives you editable overview of all the windows and tabs in Chrome. Here is a screenshot:

    A work around would be to use pin tabs. If you right click a tab and choose pin it will become a small button to the very left. Also, it'll stay there when you close your browser and open it again.

    Doesn't solve the problem but you'll at least get a better overview of your tabs

    "tree style tabs" is a good alternative, I just miss a shortcut hotkey to open it instead of clicking on its icon.. also options to enlarge the list. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tree-style-tabs-beta/ffididlaalcoegfcalmeldjfnihmoech

    I miss also at pin tabs, an option to make the pinned smaller, so there could have more!, the width of the page icon is good enough, actually it occupies twice that size :(
