In out network if someone creates a zip folder then noone but the administrator or that user can open it.

I have added "Everyone" to the security tab of that folder with "Full control" with no success. I have also added specific users to have full control but that doesn't work.

Any other file like a text file works fine, it only seems to be happening with Zip files.

This is a pain as if you need to access what is in the zip you then have to ask the user who created it to unzip it or login at admin.

The machine is a 32bit Windows 2008 Server(but this is happening accross the network on other servers also)

    Can anyone help?

is there a way to add comments to a folder in windows server 2008, maybe also through powershell? In my company we have a shared server and I would like to give other users information about the meaning of some folders.

    Thank you

Windows shares can have comments specified when you create the share, however individual folders cannot. An easier solution might just be a read-me folder in each folder that requires a description.
