I have a usb tuner for north american over-the-air ATSC broadcasts- can not find any way to use it with WMP directly(i.e. NOT using Windows Media Center). It seems completely bizarre the wmp does not support this. What am I missing? I know the device works, I just can see no way configure or use it.

in WMP there's a configuration (in the configuration menu, of course) option that allows to 'set up' a TV card, you must try it first, if it doesn't 'recognize' your TV receiver, then the best shot is to use a 3rd party soft, like XBMC, it allows various configs, and can be set up even in a XBOX360 (not sure if they have released an XBOXONE compatible version)

I like to view my library in various ways in WMP. For example, I usually search for Podcast and order the result by date added. This gives me a list of my podcasts by date order, newest to oldest. Is there a way of saving this view so that I don't have recreate it each time I open WMP?

If it's not possible to do this, can anyone suggest an app that does do it, and that handles syncing as well as WMP.

I could find how to hack the background through the registry

By looking into the Media Player Preferences

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences

Perhaps a more knowledgable person knows which one of these would "reset" your view, so that you can turn it off and leave it as you set it.
