Seems you're not the only one.

    Try this solution.

There is other advice offered in that forum thread.

    Hope this works.

Try playing with Control Panel -> Mail (Microsoft Outlook 15) settings. You could try to update your profile or delete it and recreate a simple IMAP / POP mail account. After you get that working, you can try adding a ME account.

I had the same problem. Description: I was trying to set an email account on a laptop already part of a domain. The domain is a W2008R2 AD running Exchange 2010. The client is a W7 Pro with Outlook 2010.

The problem arose in both cases: - set that email account using autodiscovery or - set that email manually as Outlook Anywhere (RPC over https).

I was having no problem at all with the others emails clients, already set on other computers.

Solution I found out that on the server, the service

    Microsoft Exchange Address Book

    was not running.

    I hope this will help.

    Follow these steps.

    1. Press the Windows + R key on the keyboard.
    2. Type regedit -> Click OK.
    3. Navigate to the following location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles.
    4. Delete the registry entries under the Profile key.

after upgrade to outlook 2013 Contacts have the default picture in reading pane
  • Juan Zamudio

I'm using Windows 8 on a domain (using a domain account not a Microsoft account) connecting to Exchange, all my Contacts were outlook contacts with pictures and other data, I could see the picture of the contact in the reading pane and people pane while using Outlook 2010.

After the upgrade to Outlook 2013 I can see my outlook contacts but it appears that they are unavailable in the reading pane because all i can see is the default picture (the default picture picture is also visible in the notifications).

If I put the mouse over the name of the people while in the reading pane all I can see is the card with the default info (the only data is that the contact is available in the next 8 hours), if i compose a new message and hover the name of the contact i can see the card with all the data (picture, company, etc.).

Is this the default behavior in Outlook 2013 if you are in a domain and not connected to any service or there is a way to show the picture of my contacts in every part of outlook?
