When the exploit was cleaned up, it left behind a scheduled task which loads when Windows starts. Naturally, the task can no longer find the program it was going to run. Well Windows 8 has no Start Menu anymore and the startup folder has disappeared also.
Where can I find that folder? Or is there a new way with Metro?

Try the below mentioned steps to add the startup programs in Windows 8
1.Open the Run command by clicking Windows key+R
2.Type in the command as %appdata% -> Press Enter. This should take you to “C:\Users\AppData\Roaming”.
3.Go to \Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup . The full path should look like: “C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup”.
Note: You can easily skip the steps 2 and 3 by simply typing the command shell:Startup in Run command instead of %appdata%
4.Now add any shortcut which you wanted to add in for the startup applications. You can do it by simply copying the existing shortcut and place it here. or Rihgt Click mouse -> New ->Create Shortcut and you can browse the wanted program to add shortcut
