networking - delete history matching ip address?
2014-07
In chrome history, I search for the ip address I want to remove (e.g. 192.168.2) and it lists all the history matching that address. I then click the first item, shift-click the last item to select all, and press "Remove selected items". The screen goes white for a short time, then comes back and shows many (but not all) the same addresses as I just removed. Problem: Chrome won't delete some history items.
I can check the first item and remove it. It comes back again. It does not delete.
Using the omnibox and typing in the ip address suggests items that I thought I just removed, so it IS remembering the address not just forgetting to refresh the screen properly.
How can I force chrome to remove all items for a given IP range so that it no longer suggests adn then auto-selects them in the omnibox? This is a feature I DO want for non-ip-based addresses that I type in.
I'm looking for a way to delete a whole URL in Google Chrome.
Do I need to run some other program or can it be done in the browser itself?
I found the answer from here
- type part the the URL, so it shows up in your suggestion
- use the arrow keys to move to it
- Press Shift and Delete (if on Mac, press fn + Shift + delete) to remove the link.
- Click the "Tools" menu.
- Select Options.
- Click the Under the Hood tab.
- Click Clear browsing data.
- Select the "Clear browsing history" checkbox.
- Use the "Clear data from this period" menu to select the amount of data you want to delete. 7. Select Everything to clear your entire browsing history completely.
- Click Clear browsing data
Another alternative is CCleaner
If you want to remove something specifically from your history, open Chrome and go to chrome://history/#e=1&p=0.
You may have to copy and paste that link, it doesn't seem to like to link directly to it.
