How to remove remembered autocomplete items in Firefox and Chrome?

    I love the way the browser remember the text I entered into a form field - especially when I'm a developer. It saves lots of my typing time.

    Though, sometimes there are unwanted remembered items and need to be removed. I don't know how to do that in Firefox and Chrome. Please help!

    With both Chrome and Firefox you can just highlight the term you want to delete and hit the delete button.

    i have a problem with Firefox autocomplete in login forms. When i enter a password and a username for the first time it asks me if i want to remember them, i click on "remember" and it saves the data, but when i log out and then return to the login page it shows me nothing. The password is autocompleted only after i enter the username. Is there a way to do the autocomplete immediately like in any other browser?

    Not entirely what you're asking for, but I really recommend using Lastpass for you password managing.

    If this only occurs on certain websites, it may be that these websites specify that auto-complete is disabled. By default, Firefox obeys. There is, however, a workaround, and a Greasemonkey script.
