How to skip the Windows 8 lock screen image?
2014-04
Every time I start up the pc or lock it manually and I want to log in again, I have to press random button or mouse click to remove the "Start-screen background". After that I can enter my password/pin to unlock the pc.
What I want is to just start enter the password/pin right away and be done with it. Why show a start-screen that's made for removing anyway?
So how do I skip the lock-screen image? Or make it automatically move away? Or move the password/pin box to the lock-screen? Anything will do, I just want to instantly enter my credentials and be done with it.
Copy this into a new .reg file and import it with regedit.exe:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization]
"NoLockScreen"=dword:00000001
This disables the LockScreen completely.
How can I take a screenshot of the lock screen in Windows 8?
Note that Windows 8 shows a lock screen with a wallpaper and in the bottom-left corner shows the date-time with notification icons of wireless and battery. This is the lock screen I wish to capture.
But, if you press any key on this lock screen, it goes away and Windows 8 displays your profile picture and a password field asking you to enter it to unlock Windows. This is NOT the lock screen I wish to capture.
You can try to use the Windows 8 Login Screen Capture tool there : http://www.technoarea.in/how-to-take-screenshot-of-windows-8-login-screen/
The website says that it makes possible take a screenshot of the lock screen, by pressing the Windows Key + L.
The only other way I know is to RDP in (further to Bali C answer) then you can use Print Screen.
